Our Garden to Plate program gives children hands-on experience in growing, harvesting, preparing, and enjoying fresh produce from our own veggie patches. From planting seeds and caring for the garden to picking herbs and vegetables for weekly cooking activities, children learn where food comes from and develop a deeper appreciation for healthy eating. This meaningful farm-to-table journey supports sustainability, builds responsibility, and encourages lifelong healthy food habits while connecting children to nature and their community.

Our very own chef at Happy Sprouts collaborates with staff, children and family in developing exciting menus in our purpose built, state-of-the-art kitchen and serving areas.

We cater for health-based dietary requirements such as allergies and cultural requirements such as halal, vegetarian and vegan food offerings. This is carefully managed through the use of personally named and colour-coded crockery and cutlery.

We include the children in our nutritious food preparation each week which is a great way to introduce aspects of learning such as measuring and exploring different textures and aromas. This approach sets children up for life-long healthy eating patterns.

Every outdoor play area has veggie patches. We incorporate food grown in our very own veggie patches in our weekly cooking sessions. Through this experience, children learn sustainability concepts and get to see first-hand where vegetables come from and how they are crafted into the food we eat.
